Why are straight men so reluctant to admit which ones of their peers are attractive?
At the moment I'm collecting in votes for some garden party awards. These range from "Most likely to be a closet axe murderer" to "Workoholic." There are male and female categories for each award.
What amuses me most about the results I've collected in so far, is that women are happy to complete both the "Sexiest male" and "Sexiest female" categories whereas most guys have chosen only to name women. One even went as far as to point out, as way of an answer, that he is not gay.
Speaking to straight men often reveals that they are quite preoccupied with the attractiveness of their rival males, so why is it so hard for them to put their thoughts down on paper?

Because, well if the peer is a woman, it's fine, it's normal. But if the peer is a man, the man you say it's attractive think you're gay or you want a date with him.
